Christmas Season Worship at Messiah
All you need to know about visiting Messiah Lutheran Church at Christmas Time
Receive the Ultimate Gift of Christmas
We look forward to seeing you to celebrate the Nativity of our Lord (Christmas) at Messiah Lutheran Church in Saginaw. Come receive the Christ-child at a Christmas worship service at Messiah. He is the ultimate gift of Christmas! When Jesus entered into our world He became our brother so that He could receive the punishment of sin in our place. There is no greater miracle than that God became man that we might become children of God.
Christmas Eve (4 pm) at Messiah follows the Evening Prayer, Service of Light, from Lutheran Service Book. The heart of the service is the reading of the Christmas narrative from the Gospel of Luke, interspersed with Christmas hymns. At the end of the service we light candles as we sing “Silent Night.”
On Christmas Day (9:30 am) we celebrate the Chief Divine Service in honor of the incarnation of our Lord Jesus Christ. We encourage everyone to attend both our Christmas Eve and Christmas Day services as we celebrate together this great feast.
We at Messiah welcome and encourage the attendance of children in our worship service. If you need to take your child out for a brief time during worship, please use the seating area that is just on the other side of the glass. This will allow both parents and children the opportunity to remain a part of the worship experience. If you feel circumstances require moving beyond this seating area, please see one of our ushers or elders for further assistance.
The Lutheran Church Of The Messiah asks that anyone requesting communion be a confirmed member in good standing of the LCMS, LC-C, or AALC Church. Guests that are not confirmed or in good standing with the LCMS or a church that the LCMS is in Pulpit and Altar Fellowship with are welcome at the communion rail for a blessing. Please come up with everyone else when your row is excused by an usher, fold your hands, and bow your head when you are approached by those who are serving.
